BOOK FAIR NEWS

Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon! We invite you to participate in this celebration of reading. Our children need you to volunteer your time during our Book Fair! A portion of all sales comes back to our school.

We need Book Fair volunteers on Friday, March 7, 2008, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm to set up the Book Fair.  At 3:15pm, we will host a teacher preview, and we need volunteers to provide and set up refreshments.  In addition, we need volunteers on March 10th-March 14th, 2008, to help shoppers and serve as cashiers. Finally, we need volunteers on March 14th, from 3:30pm until 5:00pm to tear down the Book Fair.

If you would like to participate, call Kim Moloney at 704-500-2556 or e-mail her at: soccerandcroppingmom@roadrunner.com.

New to parents this school year!

We have a book fair home page! The home page provides information regarding the Book Fair schedule and volunteer opportunities. In addition, you can view featured books and learn about special Book Fair programs and contests. You can also make out your wish list.

Be sure and visit the Book Fair home page at: http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/ars.

Thank you for helping. We could not make our Scholastic Book Fair a success without volunteers like you! If you are unable to volunteer, you can support our Fair by attending anytime we are open or by coming to our Family Event on March 11th, from 6:00pm–7:30pm.  We will also have a RAP meeting at 6:30pm the same night.

FIRE SAFETY POSTER CONTEST WINNERS

Once again, all three winners for the county-wide contest are from ARS!  We are very proud of all our 4th graders for doing such an outstanding job on their posters this year.  Our three winners are Tiffanie Nichols, Eli Keever, and Chandler Terry.  These students will be fire chiefs for a day!  Congratulations!

A GREAT BIG THANKS

The ARSYAA made over $1,000 on the port-a-pit fundraiser.  We would like to thank everyone who came out and supported our sports program.  Also, a special thank you goes to the volunteers who helped in any way. J
