I have been very involved in ARCS as a parent, a teacher, and a RAP officer since the opening of its doors in 1998.  This will be my 7^th year as a staff member of American Renaissance Charter School.  During these seven years my responsibilities have varied from upper core math teacher, to lower core math teacher, to my role now as Student Services Leader. 

I received my B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from North Carolina State University in 1990 and my K-5 certification from Meredith College.  My past experiences in education before coming to ARCS was with the Iredell Statesville School System as an Exceptional Children’s Teacher in the Academically Gifted Program for three years and then as a third and fourth grade teacher. 

On a personal note, I have three children, all of whom have completed ARCS. One now attends the middle grades of ARS and two are attending Statesville High School. My husband Steve is currently Leader of the newly merged ARS.
 

Hobbies / Interests

I love reading, running, swimming, spending quality time with my family and friends and all summer you can find me relaxing on the beaches of New York!  My favorite authors are Nicholas Sparks, Jodi Piccoult and Eric Carle.
