Bio
I
attended college at Appalachian State University where I earned a BS and an
MA degree in Special Education. My family consists of my husband, Jack, my daughter, Tiffany, and my son, Patrick. I have two
wonderful grandchildren, Mary Hope and Jake. We also have four poodles – Bubbi, Wojo, Precious and Jacques. The only thing in life that I have found all that it is built up to be is having grandchildren!
Message to Parents: After teaching for thirty-one years, I retired
from teaching exceptional students full-time in June, 2000, but have been
involved in Exceptional Education on a part-time basis since my retirement.
I came to ARS in February, 2004, and am delighted to be here on a part-time
basis. Carolyn Rogers and I share the EC teaching position. One of us is
here each day.
This
year, I will be at school all day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 7:30-11:30 on Thursdays. Mrs. Rogers will be at school all day on Mondays
and Wednesdays, and 7:30 until 11:30 on Fridays.
We will
work with students in small groups on the goals that have been formulated by
each student’s Individual Education Plan Team. If you need to communicate
with me, I welcome your calls or emails!
I work a great deal with
my students who need reading skills on learning the Dolch Sight words. You
can get the lists of words by visiting
