Bio
Hi, my name is
Debbie Shaginaw and this is my tenth year at American Renaissance. I am looking forward to a lot of change and challenge this year. I will be looping to first grade with my Kindergarten class from last year. We are going to have another great year!
I earned my BS in Elementary Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I moved to Statesville fifteen years ago and I have been enjoying the South ever since. I have been married for
fourteen years and have two beautiful children, Micky-10 and Nicole-21 months. My husband and I will welcome Faith Alexandria Shaginaw to our family sometime around the end of October.

Philosophy Statement
I believe that all children have the ability to learn. Children need to feel safe and loved to become productive members of society. In my room I give children the opportunity to experience and discover themselves and the world around them by creating a hands-on environment. "Children are like wet cement, whatever falls on them, leaves an impression." I want children to have a positive impression of teachers and school when they leave my room. My love of children is evident in the trust that they give back to me.

Hobbies / Interests

In my spare time, I love to read a good book. My favorite author is
James Patterson. |
