Bio

I attended Mars Hill College and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education (K-6).  I have previously worked in the Iredell-Statesville School system and at the Sylvan Learning Center, along with a few years as a "stay home mom". This will be my third year as the Upper Core Communications Teacher. I am married, and my husband and I have three wonderful boys.  Two of my sons will be attending ARS this year; one will be in second grade and the other will be in fifth grade.  I also have a son in 9^th grade at Statesville High School.  I am looking forward to a terrific year full of discovery and excitement in learning!

Hobbies / Interests

I enjoy reading, cross-stitch, movie-going, and cheering on my sons in their various sports at many, many ballgames. I am also a Sunday School teacher and am actively involved in my church.  I love to read children's literature, and my favorites are the Harry Potter books by JK Rowling. As Albus Dumbledore says, "It's our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities".
